1 Year Blogiversary Giveaway, No Fooling!

One year ago TODAY ( It's 11:45 p.m., March 30th) I started this blog! It has brought me much pleasure and introduced me to many blogger friends from near and far(mostly far)! What a great group of people! I truly appreciate all of the support and blog-love that I have received:) To celebrate my 1 year mark I am giving away this fantastic, brand new cupcake book, "What's New, Cupcake?" by Karen Tuck & Alan Richardson, to one lucky winner picked at random! (These two are also the creators of the New York Times bestseller, "Hello, Cupcake!") I also purchased a copy for myself:) (In the photo above the "blemish" in the middle is from the lighting.)
Don't you just love Chocolate Moose?(pg. 86) This book is 227 pages, loaded with clever cupcakes, instructions, techniques, tools, tips, ideas, sources and wonderful photographs!
Fall is my favorite season and I love this scarecrow! (pg. 176)
French Fries anyone? April Fool's! These "french fries" (pg. 24) are in the book (placed on cupcakes) in the "April Fool's Play" chapter. I made them today(without the cupcakes), in case you want an easy trick for April 1st! It's so simple and quick, and they sure look like the real thing!

French Fries:
1 frozen pound cake (10.75 ounces; Sara Lee), thawed
White frosting
Red food coloring(I also mixed in some brown)

1. Trim the edges of the pound cake into 1/2- inch-thick slices. Using a crinkle vegetable cutter, cut the pound cake crosswise into 1/2-inch-wide strips. Transfer the strips to two cookie sheets and spread in a single layer.
2. Preheat broiler to high. Toast the pound cake strips under the broiler until golden, 20 to 30 seconds(watch carefully to avoid burning). Turn the pieces and continue toasting until all sides are golden. Repeat with the other cookie sheet. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
3. Tint some vanilla frosting (1/4 cup) with the red(and brown, for truer ketchup color) food coloring and put in a mini cupcake liner. HAVE FUN!

To participate in the giveaway, just leave a comment:) For a second chance to win, just "follow" me (on the sidebar at right) and leave a second comment to let me know that you are now a follower. If you are already a follower just let me know in a second comment also. You have two chances to win! Remember to make sure that there is a link to your blog(if you have one), or leave your email address in your comment so that I can contact you if you win!

GOOD LUCK!!!

The deadline for entry is Monday, April 5, 2010 5 p.m. PST. The winner will be posted that evening.

The Giveaway is now over and winner will be announced tonight!
