Well, it's afternoon here now, but I'll keep the Irish greeting for the title anyway:) I hope everyone is wearing green to keep from being pinched! These leprechauns would like to wish all of you a...
HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY!!! I made these cute fellas using my favorite sugar cookie
recipe and royal icing. I used pre-made sugar eyes, a jelly bean for the nose and edible markers(AmeriColor) for the freckles and mouth details.

I had a lot of fun watching these leprechauns come to life, and they are one of my favorite cookies to make! Now, get out there and enjoy the rest of your day and remember to have some Irish soda bread, maybe a corned beef on rye or some corned beef and cabbage. And perhaps you can top off your meal with a little leprechaun:)

I'd also like to give a shout out to Diane of
Created by Diane for being so sweet and sending me this great shamrock cookie cutter! I participated in her St. Patrick's Day Linky with my
rainbow cookies, and she liked them so much that she sent me this gift, which arrived on Monday! Though I was able to get the cookie dough made(it's in my fridge) I, unfortunately, didn't have time to make them. (I had these leprechauns already baked and in the freezer.) You can bet that the first order of business next March will be to make shamrock cookies! Thanks, Diane!!!
May the leprechauns be near you,
to spread luck along your way.
And may all the Irish angels,
smile upon you on St. Patrick's Day.~A traditional Irish blessing
