I thought it would be fun to make a sugar cookie version of this fatherly symbol~on a stick of course! This way dad can "wear" a tie without any discomfort and then enjoy munching on it afterward:)
So, is your dad more brains than brawn, or is it a TIE? I couldn't resist:)
FYI: Necktie cookie was made using a cutter purchased from Copper Gifts and my favorite sugar cookie/ royal icing recipe. Insert stick into cookie before baking. I used orange and sky blue Wilton gel for the icing colors.
Please note: My new website address is now www.munchkinmunchies.com
In the process of changing my address to a dot-com, I somehow "lost" all of my "Fellow Foodies" blog list on my side bar:( I am in the process of rebuilding it.

ReplyDeleteCutest. thing. ever!
ReplyDeleteHa ha :) Love those necktie cookies. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to assume that it is your husband in this picture...totally neat that he would pose for your cookie shot! What a sweetheart and what a nice tie. (Even if it's not your husband...still a sweetheart LOL)
ReplyDeleteYou are SO creative!!! My dad was totally a tie guy...only his ties had hardware tools, cartoon characters, and holiday patterns. My pride always died a little as a kid when he wore them--now we proudly buy them for him! :)
ReplyDeleteMy sister-in-law made these after they got engaged with notes attached asking the guys to be groomsmen and then she made dress shaped cookies for the girls with notes asking them to be bridesmaids.
ReplyDeletewow mom! You have your own domain!!!!!!!!! That's awesome! I love the necktie cookie.. Well I'm in the mood for some sugar load right now so your post today is making me want to buy some cookies! :)
ReplyDeleteHow cool are these?!?! I made sugar cookies last weekend and attempted to decorate them all pretty like. Man! I have even more respect and admiration for your cookie frosting skills now. It was so stinkin' hard!
ReplyDeleteBest. Picture. Ever. I just love it. I posted a link on Edible Crafts because I just couldn't help it (but if your tie model would prefer to not be featured so prominently over there, I'll of course take it down!)
ReplyDeleteHow perfectly clever! Cool that you are dot comming! Bummer that something was lost in the process. It's always a pain. Now that I got my font working I think my comments thingy is broken :(
ReplyDeleteSuch handsome, handsome cookies! Good enough to eat!
ReplyDeleteSue these are so darn cute and most men would rather have these than a tie.O of course I remind them that women did not creat ties. Joni
ReplyDeleteOh these are soooo stinkin cute!!!! Super idea....always love love your blog posts!! Thanks for sharing all of your creations:)
ReplyDeleteOH, that is great! So many sugar cookies are directed to women. My hubby loves having special cookies made for him!
ReplyDeleteTrust you to create yet another adorable idea! I have a limited amount of gift options for my Dad too..and a tie is definitely one of them!
ReplyDeleteI love it! It is SO cute :D And I love how you made it into a pop so that he could hold it up!
ReplyDeleteLOve it, what a cute idea.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a sweet idea, Sue! My husband is wanting a kindle for Father's Day, this would be a perfect addition to his wish. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this cookie idea! Brian "has" to wear a tie to work and does not like it at all. He loves cookies though. The kids and I might need to make a batch of these for him. :)
ReplyDeleteOh I just love these! In the new world of 'business casual' I wonder what the new go-to father's day gift will be? I think I picked out more ties than I can count!
ReplyDeleteawesome more goodies on a stick!! love the bright blue and orange too. So i've been contemplating getting the dot com for the blog, hoping it's relatively easy to make the move...?
ReplyDeleteYou could write a cookie on a stick book. You come up with the cutest holiday cookies.
ReplyDeleteHow cool...! I almost thought it's a real tie, what a great job you have done :D)!
ReplyDeleteAs SOON as I saw this pic I thought this MUST be Sue's creation! I ♥ it!!
ReplyDeleteThese are SO fantastic! Such a clever idea. Well done! Do you have email subscription to your blog?

ReplyDeleteSue that picture should be in a magazine!! What a super fun play on a cookie.
ReplyDeleteHow fun and adorable! I love Coppergifts too, and was trying to avoid having a peek there any time soon, but now I just have to!

ReplyDeleteUm too adorable -- how do you do it time and again? ;p
ReplyDeleteYour cookies on a stick are so fun. I love this one. My dad always wanted socks and shirts and when he passed away 16 years ago he had a drawer full of unopened shirts! This post made me think of him.
ReplyDeleteYour photo is great too - this should be in a women's magazine somewhere.
Always, amazing me... you are!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! This is some gift a man would expect: pleasant to the eye and edible :-)
ReplyDeleteVery clever photo that triggers a smile and warmth at heart....
What a great idea! We made 120 decorated cookies for the church moms for Mother's Day, and the dads were jealous. I had planned on doing traditional drop cookies for them for Father's day. We may have to do something like this instead!!
ReplyDeleteso cute! Scrolling though my reader trying to catch up from a week of being out of touch.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a clever idea!
These are adorable! Glad Diane pointed them out, perfect for Father's day or even just an 'anyday' surprise for devoted dads. :)
ReplyDeleteThese cookies look yummy and adorable! I showcased them in my Father's Day Ideas with a link back to you. Thank you for sharing.

All of the women in our church bake cookies for the men on fathers day and then mix up a variety bag to hand out to each father after the service. I think I may do this, but my mom's in town and I'm not sure this is what I need to be doing this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love the Tie Cookie Pops - so does my boyfriend I think he's jonesing for some :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I have featured you in a tie-riffic round up for Father's day!
